Laperal White House of Baguio City
White House of Baguio City is known as one of the most haunted places to be found in the Philippines. And it is located along the Leonard Wood Road of Baguio City.
What Does the House looks like?
The Laperal house, built on a 4-hectare property near Teachers camp, still original yakal and narra wood.The receiving room has a fireplace and old furniture. While main living room has been turned into an exhibit area for bamboo carvings. The dining area retains the old narra dining table. The house has a narrow staircase leading to the four rooms on the second floor. The master bedroom has a fireplace and a terrace.
HISTORY
In the 1920's the color of this house is light yellow, red and gold. They the repainted the house into white during the 2000's and start calling it the White House. The former owner of the White House was the Laperal clan, built during the 1920’s. It was revealed that a married couple once went to Baguio for vacation and fell in love with the place. They bought a land and built a rest house. During the World War II, it was occupied by Japanese and made the house as their headquarters. Local officials and other inhabitants who that time rented the house were brutally killed, but it is remained unclear whether it was the Japanese or other dwellers did the killings. The last clan, Roberto Laperal, died after fracturing his head after a slip in the house’s yard.
STORIES
Many reports from the residence that lives near the house that they are seeing things like, a crying woman standing by the window of third floor it was said that this woman is the nanny of the owner’s grandchildren. And tourist who dared to explore the haunted White House also heard noises on the rooftop.
Caretakers have several spooky experiences too. A boy caretaker once answered a phone call from her wife abroad until she heard a female voice and even suspected her husband was womanizing. The caretaker then informed her wife that he was alone the entire conversation.
There been also reports that footsteps and moan could still be heard. Numerous Baguio residences reported seeing a girl at the door footsteps.
And one of the caretakers says that he always saw the spirits of Laperal family. He says that Dona Victorina always staying at the center of the sofa that was used to be the favorite spot of Victorina. And every 6am in the morning he always saw Don Roberto walking down the stairs. He can tell that the spirits that he saw was the spirit of Don Roberto and Dona Victorina cause of the pictures that have been displayed in the house. And there are also rumors that the Laperal family wont leave this house.
They say when you visit or approach the house you will feel unwelcome, its like you been watched closely by someone.
